Exercise Overview
The eccentric step up is a tendon-loading exercise used to strengthen the quadriceps mechanism, especially the quadriceps tendon and knee extensor control. It is commonly prescribed to improve tolerance to stairs, squatting, and other activities that place load through the front of the knee.
